Traditionally prepared on the occasion of the commemoration of the dead, according to a well-known tradition, Martorana fruit came about because the nuns of the Martorana monastery in Palermo, to replace the fruits harvested from their garden, created new ones with almond flour and sugar to beautify the monastery for the Pope’s visit at the time. Today it can be enjoyed at long times of the year, consisting mainly of almond paste.
Ingredients: Almonds, sugar, lemon juice, food coloring vanilla flavor.
